Yes, wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling art! Every inch of our space features murals and works from local artists.

And if you see blank space, not to worry, next time you return it’s likely to be covered in local art.

What kind of food fuels the creativity here?

Breakfast… that’s our World’s Longest Oatmeal Bar and it’s 100% on the house (and crafted with the same creativity as our murals).

Lunch or dinner? Well, we’ll make you the best grilled cheese sandwich you’ve ever had and pair it with a local beer or wine for you.

Oh… and we’re just steps away from some of the best restaurants in Pullman, so you can also give that a go.

I want to go down memory lane! What's the history behind the hotel?

Glad you asked! Designed in 1959 and built in 1960, it was originally called the Manor Lodge Motel. In 1967 Walter L. Slocum, a sociology professor at nearby Washington State University, purchased it and an adjoining service station shortly thereafter. Rumor has it that there

was once a pool onsite and the motel’s sign out front said “Rest! Relax! Refresh!”.

Can you describe the vibe of the rooms and share some details about the beds?

Experience cozy lodge vibes with a modern twist. With stunning murals and artsy details, it feels like your personal retreat.

Our Aloe Vera memory foam mattresses and blackout blinds ensure you sink in for the ultimate restful experience.

Hypothetically speaking… if something in my suitcase barked, is that okay?

Of course! Dogs, quiet birds and goldfish are welcome, but unfortunately, no cats or venomous creatures.

Are there any cool events happening during my stay?

You bet! Click the HAPPENINGS button at the top of the page or ask our staff about live music, art workshops, or local happenings. There’s always something creative going on.

I love the planet. What does the hotel do for sustainability?

We don’t build new hotels; we bring old ones back to life! Saving them from the landfill and reducing the need for new materials.

It also involves some pretty cool stuff. We’ve got rainwater catchment systems, bioswales, recyclable materials, solar panels and drought-tolerant plants all doing their part. It’s sustainability with style and a little nostalgia on the side!
